Litchfield Park: Litchfield Park is an affluent residential community boasting a small town atmosphere and casual lifestyle recognized by Phoenix Magazine as "one of the best places to live in Arizona." Litchfield Park is a beautiful small city of approximately 5,000 residents located 15 miles west of Phoenix that started in 1916 when Goodyear Tire and Rubber bought farm land to grow Egyptian long-staple cotton to use in tire cords. The project, originally named "Goodyear Farms" was developed by Paul Litchfield (who became company President of Goodyear) for whom the company town was named in 1926. Goodyear had tens of thousands of acres under cultivation. From 1931 to 1944, it was also the test site for Goodyear tires and a well-known docking station for the world-renowned Goodyear blimp.
